The other day, I was talking to a West Indian friend of mine, and we were joking around about quirks in language that different cultures have.

The way I joke around about the way my mother says, "Tanks Got!!", or my mother in law calls Fabreeze; "Dabreeze".

He shared this with me:

"The other day I called that number (blank-blank-blank-FILM) to find out when a movie was playing. A woman answered the phone and I apologized for dialing the wrong number, and hung up and dialed again.
The same woman answered, and I apologized again.

Then she asked, "Are you from the islands?"
I was a little taken aback.
I mean, I don't have an accent or anything..."Yeah, why?" I asked.

Because you dialed blank-blank-blank-FLIM."

I fell out.
