What would you do?

Recently, The Mister and me have noticed that someone is going through our mail and taking what they like.

The Mister had purchased a cord for his iPhone off of e-bay and whoever went through the mail had ripped open the padded envelope and taken the cord, leaving the envelope in the mailbox. A few days later another item came from e-bay, and the envelope was ripped open, but the item was left back.

Today, we came home to find that an envelope from a decorating company that I buy from had been ripped open and the gift card/coupon taken out with the envelope left in the box.

This is disturbing on a number of levels. We live on a quiet street with little or no traffic, which leaves me to suspect a neighbour.

It's just creepy.

When the forest fire of Alzheimer's causes havoc in the frontal lobe of the brain, it attacks the site approximating most to our adult selves. Frontal-lobe damage can return dementia sufferers to child-likeness and childishness. Childishness is the worst because it's coated in adult power, assumed authority and physical strength.

There's an ad for a "Cash for Gold" place in Toronto on the radio that talks about those "heirloom pieces from Grandma" that are "not your taste", and bringing them on down to their establishment for cash.

My question is: If it's an heirloom, would you "cash it in" just because it isn't your taste?

What would you do?

What if some co-workers confided in you by telling you that they were planning to do something that would negatively affect the workplace...would you tell your boss?

...or would you keep their confidence, and allow it to happen, making your job more difficult, and putting your clients at risk.
