'rape trap' - is a product worn internally by women. The hollow inside is lined with rows of razor-sharp hooks, which are designed to latch on to a rapist's penis during penetration. They can only be removed by a doctor.
The product will be on the shelves of South African chemists and supermarkets later this month. South African mother-of-two Sonette Ehlers developed the original prototype in 2005 but has struggled to get it patented and approved for sale, not least because of staunch opposition from feminist groups.

"Now, the girl was a consenting partner (inasmuch as you can consent to anything when you’re 11 years old.) She got drunk on cider to steel herself up for it and then posted the pictures herself, even captioning one as “tits oot.” So maybe she is this mythical wild child succubus or whatever, but really the whole thing all around speaks to just a weirder, bigger cultural phenomenon. Is there really any doubt that this little girl is emulating “adult” pop starlets with their sex tapes and leaked nude photos that make them all the rage and suddenly legit? And is there any doubt that this little dude is taking his sexual assault trial behavior cues from celebrity adult role models?"

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—A man who police say arranged on Craigslist for his wife to be raped by another man was in jail on $200,000 bond Thursday and investigators were pursuing a "strong lead" as they searched for the attacker.
Police said the husband had gone on Craigslist to look for someone to come to his house and have sex with his wife using "scare tactics." Police said the act was without the wife's consent or knowledge.
I hope he has some sex with "scare tactics" in prison...but, I'm not confidant that he'll even spend much time behind bars, if at all.

The press continues to be shocked that a clean-cut, young man like Philip Markoff, the alleged Craigslist Killer, who seemingly had it all, (money, education, the right gender, the right skin color), gruesomely murdered a masseuse he hired through Craigslist, but people who went to college with him say he gave off a “creepy vibe” and had issues with people of color and women.
You know that roommate in the interview has just been dying to dish the dirt on Markoff for a long time.

A US woman handcuffed herself to her estranged husband while he slept and changed the locks on his bedroom door in a bid to reconcile.
Helen Sun, 37 of Connecticut, told officers she wanted to make sure her husband, Robert Drawbaugh, couldn’t get up and leave while she talked with him.
Clearly not willing to talk, Mr Drawbaugh was eventually able to pin Ms Sun down and call 911 on his mobile phone, where he could be heard screaming for help and saying that Ms Sun was biting him.
Listen to the audio here.
It isn't just women who are victims.

"A homeowner, alerted of an impending home invasion by his security cameras, arms himself and takes matters into his hands last Thursday when four armed suspects attempt to break into his home."
You have to check out the video from the home owners security cameras.

Recently, I sent a scathing letter about a few experiences we had with a bank representative.
However, I didn't mail the letter until we had moved all of our business out of that bank.
When the person dealing with the complaint asked why I had waited so long to complain, I told her that I wasn't about to write the things I did, while that person had access to our money, accounts and credit rating.
The person told me that my fear of this happening was unfounded.
Really?
Tell this guy.
If this could happen with a call centre employee, imagine what someone with more power could do if they were malicious enough.

Do as we say, not as we do...
At a joint news conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Rice said that Russia's formal recognition of the territories at the heart of its war with Georgia "puts Russia in opposition to the Security Council resolution to which it is a party."
"I think it is regrettable," Rice said, adding, "Since the United States is a permanent member of the Security Council, this simply will be dead on arrival in the Security Council."
President Bush had appealed to Russia's president to ignore the advice of lawmakers and refrain from recognizing Georgia's breakaway regions as independent.
But Russia formally recognized the breakaway Georgian territories at the heart of its war with Georgia on Tuesday, heightening tensions with the West as the United States dispatched military ships bearing aid to a port city still controlled by Russian troops.
...apparently, only the U.S. has the right to recognize independence.

More proof that stupidity breeds faster than intelligence:
"GLOUCESTER (WBZ) ― There's a stunning twist to the sudden rise in teen pregnancies at Gloucester High School. 17 students there are expecting and, according to a published report, most of them became that way on purpose.
Time Magazine is reporting that nearly half of the girls confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. None of the girls is older than 16."
We're doomed.

"With a gun to his head, the young driver made a split-second decision. He would crash the car intentionally. The resulting four-car collision may not have been in the plan, but the suspects did take off when the dust settled, leaving their gun behind amidst the mangled metal."
Because if I'm going to die, who gives a fuck about the rest of you bitches!
Too much Fast and Furious, and not enough sense.
The scary thing is that this kid is really proud of himself.

"I’d been a guest on an episode of “Larry King Live,” with Jimmy Kimmel as the host in King’s absence. I had been told that I would be talking about “celebrities and the media.” But Kimmel launched an attack on one of Gawker’s regular features, a celebrity “stalker map” that relied on unsourced tipsters, one of whom claimed to have spotted Kimmel looking drunk a few months earlier. It took me a minute to catch on to the fact that Kimmel wasn’t acting out some blustery caricature — he was serious about the idea that Gawker had violated his privacy, and he was genuinely, frighteningly angry.
Back at home, after wiping off the TV makeup, I logged into my Gawker e-mail account and found my in-box flooded. I scrolled through the first of what would eventually be hundreds — and then, as the clip of my appearance was dissected on other blogs over the course of the next few days, thousands — of angry e-mail messages."
I was halfway through this article when I realized that I had blogged about her too...and the above chronicle of her public experiences online I'm sure will result in some sort of guideline advice on online sharing and the consequences of having a number of blogs that can eventually be connected...even if you don't want them to be.
