While women readily take on the role of caregiver to their ailing husbands, men struggle with new domestic responsibilities and the greater dependence their wives place on them, the study's authors suggest.

So-called "partner abandonment" can take a major toll on the health of the patient, says Marc Chamberlain, a neurologist at the University of Washington's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the lead investigator of the study.

Fashion Libra

These shoes are from the runway of Alexander McQueen's collection

I imagine designers demanding that the runways are waxed and polished like ice, and then giggling, and mocking their models with ridiculous shoes, placing bets on who makes it without breaking their colty legs.

Watch models who barely make it, or not.

"Type "labiaplasty," "vaginoplasty" or any of nearly a dozen female genital cosmetic surgeries into any search engine, and a flurry of doctors' Web sites will pop up touting the self-esteem, sexual enhancement, comfort and fashion benefits of female genital cosmetic surgery."

Well, of course once I read the article, I absolutely had to google labiaplasty(NSFW!! NSFW!!)...(my experience with noting differences in labias is severely limited).

I assumed that the women who were having this procedure done had grotesquely deformed or misshapen labias, labias that are mini penises in size. I pictured embarrassing bulges that had to be rolled up and uncomfortably tucked...I mean, how often are you showing your labia that you would have go under the knife to "make it pretty"?

What is "pretty" in terms of labian anyway?

Didn't many an painter pay homage to the labia? Hiding it's image in flowers and leaves, linens and backgrounds?

Well, from the pictures I saw...let's just say that the "after" photos are nothing like Georgia O'Keefe paintings.

Am I missing something?

Is this something that is worth going under the knife for if you're not a porn star or stripper?
...or even if you are.

...Wow, how much are women learning to hate every natural thing about themselves?

Enlighten me.

12 Celebrity Eyebrow Makeovers

(Click on image to see the rest)

It's astonishing what a difference the right eyebrow shape is.
About six months ago, I couldn't get the woman who usually does my brows and had to settle for some bitch who doesn't understand "NOT TOO THIN".
I'm still recovering, since not only did she do them thin, but she did the left one thinner.

I've spent the last 6 months trying to grow them back right.
An eyebrow pencil helps.

Signs that the Economy is Really Bad

I found this humourous entry from Jezebel called,
"Brazilian Waxes: The Trend that Never Really Existed".

It states:

There's a page-view-baiting essay in Salon today about how, because of the recession and widely acknowledged creepiness, women are going retrobush and shunning Brazilian waxes. But!

Unfortunately, there are no pube-based statistics to back up this shocking discovery, so I'm calling bullshit on the entire thing and saying that not that many women were ripping off all their pubes in the first place.

I must agree with Jessica when she says:

Maybe the porn world saw the rise of the retrobush, and desperate trend story writers used that, and one Sex and the City episode, as evidence that more and more women were going bare down there. But of the women I know, a couple have tried Brazilian waxes one time, but the vast majority have close to their original plumage.

Plus, all hair removal is expensive to have professionally done, and maintained...and frankly, I never really understood why looking like a prepubescent girl would be a turn on to begin with.

I wasn't going to post this at all, until I was led to Uncle Steve's New Waxing Options for the Progressive Woman.

That's my comedy contribution for today.

Abortion rates rocket to record high as Britain set to overtake US as world termination capital

...that's only because no one is counting them in Russia, China and India.

I love how the west considers itself "The World".

Scorned Women

Asylum has a slide show of photographs showing women's revenge.

I zeroed in on this one because she has a myspace page under the name of Jane Doe....and then I was led to a radio station site where you can hear Jane's whole story in three podcasts, so I'm assuming that they interviewed her at some point.

I dunno.
We all deal with things differently, and I certainly understand her pain.
Cheating husband, who not only cheats, but cheats with your best friend.
...the billboard, the myspace page, the radio podcasts,...I dunno, it's a little overkill for me...there's such a thing as making an attempt to move on.

"Motherf*cking Lies (Noun) The worst kind of lies, because you're not only lying to the world, you're lying to yourself, sister. "

The one really good thing about not being rich and famous is that you only have your close friends and family up your bum about "what happened" when a relationship ends.

When you're famous, you have to say crap like "I'm really happy for him..." and, "I wish him all the best...", or "We're still good friends...", instead of "Oh, he should just piss off the bloody, selfish, two-faced, chicken, bastard, pig-dog man", or "May his house be shown burning on CNN".

The Virtuous Life: Chastity

I was reading The Art of Manliness recently and came upon this twelfth post in a series about living Ben Franklin’s 13 virtues.

It's a really interesting commentary on how chastity fits into living in todays world of "hook ups" and "bumpn' uglies".

The author quotes a friend as saying: “Sex is like ice cream. The more flavors you sample, the harder it becomes to settle on one flavor for the rest of your life.”

The quote, I think has merit.

There are people who live a lifestyle that is filled with disposable relationships, (both platonic and sexual) and a disconnect I'm hearing described by women on the dating scene that I didn't experience when I was dating.
I touched on it in this post about how Porn Ruined Sex a while ago.

I find this whole willingness of women to flash pussy in public, and straight girls going "girl on girl" in clubs to entice a man who doesn't respect them, or most probably won't even take the time to get to know them anyway, rather pathetic and sad.

The New York Times did an article called The Affairs of Men which seems to advocate a man's right to infidelity.
Forgive me for not reading the whole article, but I got bored with the theme.

I'll leave it to Boinkology to do it for me:

"Maybe it’s the constant rehashing of the tired trope that men want sex more than women, and this is why they cheat; maybe it’s the author’s casual assumption that we’d all be so much better off if wives simply turned a blind eye while their husbands went off and banged 20-year-old waitresses. Though the piece does give a nod to polyandry and the notion that women, too, might want to take on multiple partners, the overwhelming vibe is that sexual variety is something that men deserve, and that their wives should happily allow them — with seemingly no thought or consideration towards what, exactly, these wives might want."

I lean towards the belief that either you are a "cheater" or you're not.
Either you have it in you, or you don't.
I don't believe in blaming the victim in infidelity, although..it's a popular justification.
In my opinion, it's internal issues in the cheater that plague him/her that have little to do with the person they are cheating on.

It has to do with virtues and internal beliefs.

Howard Stern has been quoted as saying: "Even looking at the hottest chick, you know there's some guy out there tired of banging her."

How else can you explain the luck of these girls?
